Hello my name is Glenn Hagan, I was born and raised in
Ft. Pierce, FL. and born to three
generations of commercial fisherman who all made their living and raised
there families on catching saltwater speckle trout and red fish. The method I
will show you of trout fishing is not a myth but a proven fact.
My father is Howard H. Hagan born in
Winter Beach,
FL. and spent most of his life on a island called
Orange Island were he fished and guyed out of a place called
AllenHurst
Fish Camp right on
Haulover Canal going into
Mosquito Lagoon which is the head of the Indian river. (Mosquito Lagoon has been
referred to as the “Redfish Capital of the World.) Then he moved to Ft. Pierce
in 1955 where he fished until the day he passed on in 1980. All that he
and his father knew was passed down to my brother and I which we fished until
about all commercial fishing was stopped in the state of Florida.
I have looked and looked and I have never seen nor have I found any of the
"how to's" on this anywhere. Now some of you might know some of this, but what
you don't know is it is now being published to the public for the first time
ever. Here it is all of the "how to's" and all the "don't do's" all in one
place. If you are a surefire angler this is something you need. There is more
information in this than you will ever have so don't miss out on this
offer to complete your fishing skills.
One of my concerns the spawning and raising of pigfish in small ponds. Pigfish are members of the grunt family (Orthopristis chrysoptera), and are one of the best baits for big sea trout in summer. That’s no secret—and yet it is. Because pigfish are so effective, anglers who are proficient with their use are, for the most part, reluctant to share where they get their bait, how they catch them, and in turn, the techniques they employ to catch big trout. “Trout recognize the grunting sounds pigfish make and if they can hear it, they’ll try and find the pigfish. They will move long distances when they know a meal like that waits for them.” Normally pigfish spawn in during the second week of March. By midsummer, however, they get to be about three inches, a perfect size for medium and larger trout. As they continue to grow on into late summer, they become more of a big trout bait. And bull redfish and big snook will feed on them as the pigfish get even larger in September and October. Trophy trout in the winter.....Winter in central Florida means big trout time. When the water temperatures dip into the 50's and 60's, the large trout will invade the shallow sand holes in the Mosquito Lagoon and Indian River Lagoon seeking warmth from the daytime sun. Sight fishing for big trout is one of the most challenging adventures but it can be done.
